Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York: The Techno Remix
I will probably face intense criticism for daring to touch Sinatra’s Magnum Opus, New York, New York. But it’s something that had to be done. Why? Because they said it couldn’t be done.
And just a note: Though this is a tribute to Frankie, I do not sample the original here. Why? Again, because they said not only couldn’t it be done, but it definitely couldn’t be done without sampling the original. So, that’s what I’ve done. The remix is entirely new, and entirely electronic.
I know it will not be well received in this era; it is too soon after Frankie’s death. I only hope that it is judged well after my own passing.
